The Trinity Apple Tree
An unusual apple tree has been planted in the Churchyard next to the cherry trees by the War Memorial. This tree has an interesting history as it was bred by Jerzy Bartoscewicz who was involved in the Polish resistance during the second World War and came to Britain where he worked as a chemist. He settled, married and had four children, and his widow who was a dance teacher still lives in Whitton where Jerzy was a very keen gardener. The tree will hopefully produce bright red apples whose colour permeates the flesh as well as the skin!
